Seasoned Citizens
Sleep Disruption and its Effects
A study by Toronto University and Boston Medical stated that the deterioration of the sleep switches neurons in the brains of aged people causes sleeping disorders. But while it’s part of the body’s natural aging process, this results in mental, physical, and emotional stress which is unhealthy, especially to seasoned adults.
Additionally, Mark Mayoral MD, Director of Minneapolis Regional Sleep Disorder Center, stated that 10% of adults in the US suffer from “Restless legs syndrome”.¹ This is characterized by feelings such as tingling, cramping, burning itching, pulling aching or numbness, or an antsy feeling that contributes to difficulty in sleeping. There’s also an unpleasant feeling or sensation when going to sleep and a strong urge to move.
Common Sleep Issues in Patients
In most sleep disorder centers, common patient complaints are: “Continuous tossing and turning leading to restless sleep.”
“When you can’t sleep, you tend to think more and sometimes worry more.”
“It’s late at night, but I’m not even a bit tired or sleepy.”
“I seem to watch the clock all night long; I look at it every hour and get frustrated that I’m awake.”
Sleep Disturbances at Night
Seasoned citizens are usually awakened 2-3 times in the night to go to the bathroom and urinate. The problem is, most of them find difficulty in going back to sleep -- causing them to be up for 2-3 hours. This leads to daytime sleepiness and if this issue persists, it can develop to “morning fatigue” which causes their behavior to become more restless and irritable.
Sleeplessness in Cardio Patients
There’s also the effect of medicines you are taking to manage high blood pressure and as maintenance after a heart attack. These commonly contain Beta Blockers, Alpha Blockers, ACE Inhibitors, Angiotensin 2 – receptor blockers (ARBs) and Statins which can cause insomnia as side effect. Insomnia is a sleep disorder which causes difficulty in falling or staying asleep and even inability to sleep. People who are suffering from insomnia also suffer “daytime dysfunction” which affects concentration. Daytime dysfunction may seriously impair the social, occupational, and recreational life of an individual.

What are the Woes of a Midlifer?
As you approach your middle age, you will have passed several stages in life.
Perhaps you’ve built up an impressive and stable career, or you’ve settled down with a spouse, kids, and a home. Or perhaps you’re still working to reach stability in your life and is currently planting seeds for a better tomorrow for you and your loved ones. The thought of the future is a daunting one, and can often keep you up at night just thinking about it. There’s also the matter of you realizing that you’re not as young as you once were. While you’re not old per se, your body is not as strong and as sprightly either.
Sleep Disturbances in Midlifers
All of these thoughts can plague you at night, causing you to lose sleep. As this continues, your physical condition may also worsen, as the lack of sleep can increase the likelihood of age-related illnesses such as heart problems, diabetes, and stroke.
Middle-aged sleep problems have also been associated to cognitive decline, with people suffering sleep disturbances at that age more likely to experience cognitive impairment once older.¹ With this, it’s important that you get rest not just for your physical well-being, but also for your mental state.
DreamWell Benefits for Midlifers
Everyone needs deep, quality rest when they go to sleep, and mid-lifers, in particular, need it as well so they can be calm, relaxed, and healthy. DreamWell Ingredients
DreamWell contains ingredients such as Suan Zao Ren (SZR) – a seed that comes from the spine date tree – as well as GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), an amino acid which is added to the brain’s natural GABA supply to inhibit neurotransmissions.
While Western Sleeping pills prescribed today can enhance the ability of GABA to do its job, they also have negative side effects such as memory loss, dizziness, nausea, behavioral changes, and dependence.²
In contrast, DreamWell is made of natural ingredients so you know you are taking an all-natural supplement that is safe and free from the harmful side effects of chemical sleeping pills and melatonin. This can also help you achieve quality deep sleep, decreasing the likelihood of you getting age-related illnesses, thus, slowing signs of aging.
With DreamWell’s calming and relaxing properties, you can have a worry-free rest that refreshes and recharges you and also keeps you strong despite your age.

Young Adults and Sleep
Young adults like you are commonly driven and focused. Whether you are a student or a working professional, you always give your 101% to perform well on your tasks. On the other hand, being young and vibrant, you also want to have an active, fun social life.
Because you have so much energy and you somehow feel invincible, by default, you choose to pursue more and more things with less and less time to close your eyes and recharge. However, getting sleep is still important, and lack of sleep among young adults can pose great risks. A study involving James Cook University and the University of Queensland¹ found that depression and anxiety were often linked to the presence of sleep problems. This is why even young adults who are seemingly energetic still need to enjoy deep quality sleep.
